Dublin, 3 June 2015 – ICSA is pleased to announce a partnership with the Law Society of Ireland to deliver and jointly award a Certificate in Company Secretarial Law and Practice, a practical insight into company secretarial requirements in Ireland.
Launching on 16 June 2015, the certificate will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the company law framework and key corporate governance provisions under the 2014 Companies Act. Leading legal practitioners and company secretaries will provide useful guidance through precedents, practical tips and checklists, and interactive workshop sessions.
The course will cover three key modules as follows:
“By partnering in this way we are bringing together educational infrastructure and professional expertise to meet the needs of anyone delivering, or expecting to deliver, company secretarial services in line with the Companies Act 2014,” says Ruairí Cosgrove, Vice President of the ICSA Irish Region. “The Act, which came into effect on Monday, requires private and public company directors to appoint a person with the necessary skills to discharge the statutory and other delegated duties of the company secretary. There will be no better way for people to ensure that they have the necessary skills than by taking this course.”
