Isle of Man, 16 January 2020 – The new decade is set to herald the start of a new chapter for the European Union with the UK scheduled to leave on 31 January 2020. With that and rising tensions in the Middle East, 2020 could prove to be an unsettling time for the world’s investment markets. In light of this, The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland has organised a lunchtime talk entitled ‘What does 2020 hold for investment markets?’ to offer insight into what the year might have in store.
Tom Richards, Investment Director at Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management will be sharing his thoughts on how best to balance the investment-related risks and opportunities as he outlines what 2020 might mean for the Manx investment community.
Event details are as follows:
Christopher Bolt, Chair of The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland - Isle of Man Branch says:
“As the lead portfolio manager for a number of Isle of Man-based and international clients, Tom provides management, advisory and stockbroking services to High Net Worth individuals, personal and corporate pension schemes, investment companies, offshore and charitable trusts, and regulated collective funds. He has a wealth of experience in the world of investments and we are delighted that he is willing to share his knowledge with us at such a crucial time for all those who work within the investment industry. With Brexit set to take place at the end of the month and increasing geopolitical tensions between the US and Iran, investors anxiously wait to see how the stock market will react. Tom’s insight couldn’t come at a better time.”
