Lord Mayor of London awarded ICSA Fellowship
The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) is delighted to announce that Fiona Woolf CBE, the Lord Mayor of London for the year 2013/14, has been awarded fellowship of the Institute.

Alderman for the Ward of Candlewick (Sheriff 2010/11) in the City of London, Fiona Woolf is the 686th Lord Mayor, and only the second woman to hold the role since 1189. A partner at law firm CMS Cameron McKenna, she has advised over 28 governments and the World Bank on privatisation and energy reforms. She has over 20 years’ experience in dealing with regulation, market design, implementation and major projects in the electricity industry - culminating in a CBE for her contribution to the UK knowledge economy and invisible earnings.

“I would like to extend a warm welcome to Fiona and am delighted that she has been appointed a Fellow of the Institute. She is a very worthy addition to the Institute, as testified to by her illustrious career,” says Simon Osborne, Chief Executive of ICSA. “Her vast experience of regulation, risk and compliance throughout her law career and beyond reinforces the ideals of good governance that ICSA holds dear.”

Fiona is a past President of the Law Society of England and Wales. She is a Senior Adviser with London Economics International LLP, a non-executive director of Affinity Water Ltd, a trustee of Raleigh International, the Lord Mayor's Appeal and the Chelsea Opera Group Trust. She is also a member of the Women's Business Council and a member of the Council of The London Regiment of the Territorial Army. She was a Member of the Competition Commission from 2005 to 2013.

As well as being a Fellow of ICSA, she was awarded a Senior Fellowship at Harvard University in 2001/2. She has been awarded honorary doctorates by Keele University and the College of Law and is an Honorary Bencher of Middle Temple.

“I am incredibly honoured to be made a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. I look forward to working closely with the Institute to support the fantastic work it already undertakes spanning governance and compliance.”
