London, 7 August 2015 – ICSA, the professional body responsible for governance and the qualifying body for chartered secretaries, has appointed Frank Curtiss President of its United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and Associated Territories ‘UKRIAT’ Division, effective 1 August 2015.
Mr Curtiss, who is Head of Corporate Governance at RPMI Railpen, the investment arm of the UK Railway Pension Funds has a wealth of experience in the governance field. He joined RPMI Railpen in 1990, and has been responsible for corporate governance from the perspective of a major institutional investor since 1997.
Prior to 1990, Frank worked in the UK university sector as an accountant at the University of Manchester and then the University of Surrey and started his career in finance with Williams & Glyn's Bank in 1982 on graduating from University College London with a BA degree in English.
Frank is a Fellow of ICSA and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA).
Speaking of his delight at his appointment, Frank said: “ICSA’s royal charter requires us to lead ‘effective governance and efficient administration of commerce, industry and public affairs’ and I look forward to working with Chief Executive Simon Osborne and the rest of his team in carrying out this important work. ICSA will be celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2016 and it is a great honour to be serving as President during this exciting time.”
Frank’s current role and commitments as Head of Corporate Governance at RPMI Railpen will be unaffected by his appointment.
