The recently revised Sport England and UK Sport Code for Sports Governance (2021) ‘…seeks to set a progressive landscape for sport governance development and improvement over the next few years.’ This ‘progressive landscape’ will be discussed by a panel of speakers with experience of sports governance and opportunities for questions.

Our panel of speakers will be chaired by Simon Osborne, former CEO of CGIUKI.

Craig Beeston, SGA Programme Manager, CGIUKI

Craig represented CGIUKI on the Project Board which oversaw the revised Code for Sports Governance and runs the Sports Governance Academy, a partnership between the Institute and Sport England.

Emily Green, Legal and Governance Director, England Golf

Emily joined England Golf in 2018 after having spent 13 years as a commercial litigation solicitor. Overall responsibility on the organisation for legal and governance matters, including Code compliance.

Lynsey Norris, Lecturer in Sports Business Management, University of Lincoln

Lynsey uses the Code of Sports Governance within teaching practices to support theory. Lynsey also has practical experience of the implementation of the Code of Sports Governance from 16 years within an Active Partnership and uses this experience to support student learning.
