Cyber breaches: What boards need to know and do

Grant Thornton held a breakfast briefing discussing what boards need to know and how to deal with cyber breaches.

The concept of cyber breaches has serious implications for Irish boards. Most boards are cognisant of and actively confront risk whether market, competitive or operational. But few boards see cyber security as an area in which they need to exercise oversight and governance and for the most part leave the issue to management. In fact, when a cyber breach occurs boards often struggle to respond effectively.

This CPD briefing examined the areas boards need to consider when dealing with cyber breaches.

Speaker:

Mike Harris is a Partner in Grant Thornton’s advisory practice and leads the provision of cyber security services. He advises clients in Ireland and internationally on a range of cyber security, technology fraud and risk issues including cyber security breach response and assessment.
