Elaine Hughes is the Head of Company Secretarial and Compliance at LK Shields. She has over 17 years of extensive experience in the provision of advice and assistance on all aspects of company secretarial, corporate governance and compliance matters affecting companies, directors, shareholders and other stakeholders.
Elaine is a qualified Company Secretary and corporate governance practitioner in Ireland and the UK. She graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Corporate General Administration. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Secretaries and Administrators ( FCIS) and a Member of the Association of Corporate Governance Practitioners (MGP).
Elaine specialises in advising clients on companies establishing a presence in Ireland, corporate compliance matters, Corporate Governance regulation, best practice and implementation, Directors' duties and training, decision making and accountability, Board Support.Subsidiary Governance and Company secretarial function implementation.
Elaine is a regular industry speaker on the subject of Corporate Governance. She also regularly publishes on company secretarial matters.
Elaine's extensive experience includes:
- Involvement in a number of company secretarial and corporate governance projects advising Multinationals, Government Bodies and Investment Funds on corporate governance frameworks, subsidiary requirements and global best practice.
- Extensive company secretarial experience across a range of companies, (regulated, unregulated, listed, public and private) and has implemented company secretarial functions for several clients across various sectors.
Ruairí Mulrean
Partner, Corporate and Commercial
Ruairí is a Partner in the LK Shields Corporate and Commercial team. He practises in the areas of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring and insolvency. He is recommended for Insolvency and Corporate Restructuring by leading independent legal directory, The Legal 500 (2019).
Ruairí has been a practicing Solicitor in Ireland since 2006. He also has a particular interest in taxation, being a member of the Irish Taxation Institute. He has advised on various tax driven group reorganisations and the implementation of other tax driven structures.
Ruairí also practices in the areas of company and commercial law, advising both international and domestic clients. In particular he focuses on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring and insolvency. Ruairí advises both domestic and international clients in a wide range of sectors including energy, waste and manufacturing.
