Purpose of job

You will be responsible for creating and setting of all marketing emails, using persona information to create tailored communications for each member type. You will use the Dotdigital platform to build the emails and the CRM to create marketing lists. You will be testing various approaches and reporting on performance, to ensure best practice is utilised to maximise engagement. You will liaise with colleagues responsible for social media channels and website, to create integrated campaigns that maximise revenue opportunities as well as membership engagement. You will have direct influence on the email-marketing calendar and development of the email channel.

This role requires a proactive, deadline driven, multi-tasker, with a creative mind and a can-do attitude. Excellent attention to detail and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, as well as a flexible approach to work, are essential for success in this role.

Key accountabilities

  • Daily management of the design, build and send of effective customer/ member facing email communications, using Dotdigital, as well as creating and proof-reading content.

  • Managing email campaigns throughout the customer/member lifecycle to maximise sales of our qualifications, training and events portfolio.

  • Ensure all email campaigns comply with current email best practice in the industry.

  • Use of Microsoft Dynamics CRM to extract data for email campaigns and build queries for creating marketing lists.
  • Write interesting and engaging copy tailored to each persona’s motivations and needs, using dynamic content where necessary.
  • Some website updating to support team member’s workload, ensuring content is accurate, in correct tone of voice and easy to navigate.
  • Using design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar, to create assets to support campaigns.

  • Work closely with the key stakeholders to plan and work out priorities for their requirements, ensuring alignment with marketing goals.

Additional responsibilites

  • Analysis of email marketing campaigns and development of recommendations for improvement.
  • Updating email marketing templates in Dotdigital to support new email marketing strategy.
  • Create quality content and proofread any copy that needs reviewing.
  • Source and/or create the assets required to support email communications.

Required experience and skills:

Experience
  • Experience using an ESP system is essential – preferably Dotdigital.

  • Experience of CRM systems to segment data – MS Dynamics preferred.

  • Solid understanding of email technology platforms, web analytics, databases and segmentation opportunities.

  • Experience in setting up and running email marketing automation triggers and lifecycle programmes.

  • Collecting data, looking for trends, and translating these into future actions.

  • Knowledge of A/B testing. Understanding of control groups and their use in measuring uplift a plus.

  • Basic understanding of Google Analytics and UTM tracking.

  • A broader experience within a marketing department, working with other channels such as social media, website and advertising.
