Adrian Smith

Adrian Smith is the Chief Executive of Reclaim Fund Ltd (RFL).

RFL is a not-for-profit organisation and holds the role as the operator of the UK’s Dormant Asset Scheme.

Adrian was responsible for leading the project to establish Reclaim Fund Ltd (RFL) during 2009/10 and became the companies Chief Executive in 2011. Over the last five years he has worked in collaboration with the UK government and industry to progress expansion of the Dormant Assets Scheme, including a role on the Dormant Assets Expansion Board.

With his depth of knowledge and insight regarding the management of dormant assets, Adrian has spoken at various sector events across the financial services industry in the UK and has also provided his expertise in supporting other countries including Japan, Guernsey and Germany in progressing their dormant asset agendas.

Adrian was awarded an OBE for services to the financial sector in 2022 and holds an MBA in Leadership & Sustainability. Prior to his work with RFL, he was previously a senior leader at Britannia Building Society, Bank of Ireland and Bristol & West Building Society and a former Non-Executive Director of Mutual Plus Ltd. Adrian is also a member of the Dormant Assets Advisory Board.
