Assistant Company Secretary - Financial Services

Overview

An exciting opportunity to join a well-established financial services firm in their Manchester office. The role will see you support the Company Secretary and work alongside other members of the team in managing and organising all board processes and statutory requirements and supporting the Group’s directors with corporate governance matters. Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Make arrangements for board and committee meetings, including; developing agendas, provision of timely information to directors in advance of meetings, preparing and circulation minutes and actions from meetings and escalating overdue actions as appropriate
  • Support the Company Secretary to make sure that board and committee procedures are complied with
  • Make arrangements for annual board effectiveness and director skills reviews
  • Support the Company Secretary to ensure that the Group complies with all relevant governance regulations
  • Ensure accurate and timely management of Companies House filings

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience of working as part of a CoSec/Governance team
  • CGQP (formerly CSQS) fully qualified or studying towards this qualification
  • Experience attending board and committee meetings and preparing correct and concise minutes
  • Working comprehension of necessary corporate governance standards and Company Law
