Interim Company Secretary

We are working with one of the UK's  leading Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys who specialise in intellectual property (IP). The main office is in London, with other offices across the UK and across Europe. The firm is seeking to onboard a Company Secretary for a 12 month fixed term contract.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Company Secretary will primarily take responsibility for a variety of compliance, reporting and administrative matters, with the support of a small team. As well as the main LLP,  the group has two limited companies as well as two French entities.

This role will report to the Finance Partner and the Chairman of the Management Committee and will likely work with other partners and the Heads of Function.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervision of a team and processes including acting as the deputy MLRO
• Supervising regulatory filings for all group entities, in cooperation with Head of Finance for audit-related and other financial matters and other Heads of Function where relevant
• Other compliance matters such as overseeing the regulatory requirements of the firm’s various regulated professionals
• Manage the group’s various insurance policies, including driving the renewals processes, in cooperation with relevant Heads of Function, and reporting circumstances potentially leading to a claim to the firm’s Professional Indemnity Insurance provider
• Contract Management including client terms of engagement • Manage compliance-related policies (e.g. anti-bribery, privacy, etc.)
• Supporting Heads of Function in the preparation of invitations to tender 

CANDIDATE PROFILE
• Educated to degree level
• At least five years’ experience in a relevant role, ideally in a professional services firm
• Holding a relevant legal or company secretarial qualification
• Efficient and well organised
• Able to plan workload and activities to meet deadlines in a timely fashion
• Able to work autonomously and use initiative
• Responsible and dependable
• Strong writing skills and eye for detail
• Discreet and loyal to the firm
