Corporate Governance and Secretariat Group Manager

Location: Flexible, the role will be contracted to our Wilmslow Office. Our priority is to enable all our people to work productively and effectively from any location. Through hybrid working we offer great home and office-based working opportunities and more general flexibility over where you work to be productive. There will be times when you will be expected to attend the office to collaborate with colleagues or travel due to business need.

The salary range for this role is £49,549.00 (CB0) - £56,129.00(CB2) pa, with potential for further progression.

Our Corporate Planning, Risk and Governance Directorate is responsible for making sure the ICO has the right governance, planning, risk management and compliance approaches in place. We support the ICO, and in particular senior colleagues across the organisation, to make well informed, transparent and compliant decisions, prioritising effectively. We provide oversight and assurance and make sure we support the ICO’s role as a regulator, public body and employer. We are expanding our team, and a vacancy has arisen in our Corporate Governance and Secretariat team for an enthusiastic governance professional.  This is an exciting opportunity as we build on the success of the team with new approaches to decision making.

About the role 
 
Our Planning, Risk and Governance directorate is responsible for making sure the ICO has the right governance, planning, risk management and compliance approaches in place. We support the ICO, and in particular senior colleagues across the organisation, to make well informed, transparent and compliant decisions, prioritising effectively. We provide oversight and assurance and make sure we support the ICO’s role as a regulator, public body and employer. We are expanding our team, and a vacancy has arisen in our Corporate Governance team for a Corporate Governance and Secretariat Group Manager.

About you 

You will need to be an experienced corporate governance professional with a proven track record in delivering excellent governance and secretariat services to senior leaders. You will have experience in supporting committees and board, and ensuring there is a coherent and clear governance structure in place, with well defined work programmes. You will also have delivered Annual Reports and other key governance documents.

You will be a team player, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders, and have the ambition to drive forward a programme of work which aligns to our strategic plan as well continuous improvement to ensure our approach remains effective and proportionate.
