Interim Governance Support – Not-for-Profit

£Market Rate – London/Remote

This independent, non-profit organisation set-up to tackle youth unemployment is looking to recruit an experienced governance professional on an interim basis to provide assistance to the Company Secretary. You will work closely with the CEO and the Board, facilitate Directors’ recruitment and induction, assist with Board and Committee meetings and get involved with ad hoc governance projects. Ideally you will be available to start in August and have previous experience within a similar role in the not-for-profit sector.

 

Key Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing support to the CEO and the Board while the Company Secretary is on leave throughout August;
  • Support the final decision-making on the recruitment of a new Board Chair, which is currently underway;
  • Support the preparation of the planned September Board and Committee meetings;
  • Undertake an informal review of current governance infrastructure and confirm those areas which require attention; and
  • Other tasks or projects as identified by the Company Secretary.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Governance experience;
  • Previous responsibility for delivery of relevant governance objectives;
  • IT literate (good MS 365 and Xero experience an advantage) and comfortable working virtually and in remote teams;
  • Experience in not-for-profit organisations is an advantage.
