Green Energy - Company Secretary, newly created role

Our client is a European renewable energy company. Up until now, all the company secretarial work has been handled in-house as part of the Corporate Operations role, but with everything growing so quickly the time has come to create a new role and recruit a dedicated specialist to handle this work as a separate role within the legal department, reporting into the Head of Legal (with a direct dotted line into the Chair for matters of governance and board management). The current person handling the work is not leaving the business, she just now needs to focus her attention elsewhere, so the knowledge will remain in the business and will begin to be handed over to the incoming company secretary from day 1, who can then pick up and shape the new role going forward.

This is an incredible opportunity for someone to come in and take a handover from someone who has been with the company since very early days and grow with and help build the function as the company expands. This role will suit an experienced individual with a flexible, commercial mindset, able to work fairly autonomously – but still happy to roll their sleeves up and do a standalone role handling top to bottom work, someone who would enjoy growing with the business. You will be expected to attend and minute Board meetings from the start so previous meetings experience would be preferred, as would someone with a keen interest in the renewable energy industry. A full job description is available on request.
