Governance Officer

£Competitive, Buckinghamshire (Part-Time)

Our client, a not-for-profit housing association, is seeking a self-motivated Governance Officer to join its growing team on a part-time basis (28 hours/week). The ideal candidate will be headstrong and able to work in a fast-paced environment. This role will play a critical part within the team, supporting Board meetings, updating documents, and establishing strong relationships with stakeholders. Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Arrange meetings and take minutes as required
  • Ensure updates are completed to registers and records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepare documents for sealing and circulating once signed
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure that all appropriate arrangements are made for meetings, seminars, and conferences
  • Build key relationships with Board and Committee members, subsidiary Board members and external stakeholders
  • Maintain and report against Compliance Checklist, Board returns including Declarations of Interest and Automatic Disqualification Declarations, Board Retirement Rota’s, Members Register and attendance registers
  • Distribute HRS risk newsletters and other items of interest to relevant parties
  • Diary management, including invitations to virtual meetings, booking venues and arranging catering
  • Support the Assistant Director Corporate and Company Secretary to ensure all confidential information is collated and stored appropriately.
  • Develop, establish, and maintain appropriate electronic and paper based administrative systems for the department.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure that all appropriate arrangements are made for meetings

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a Company Secretarial/Compliance/Governance function
  • Previous experience of providing high quality administrative support for a team or managers
  • Previous work for a housing association desirable
