Join the board of the Army Families Federation the independent voice of Army families as we begin to formulate our new strategic plan and continue to work hard to improve the quality of life for UK.

Army Families Federation supports army families worldwide. We are the independent voice of Army Families, and we work to improve their quality of life, wherever they live, on any aspect of family life that is affected by the Army lifestyle. We are independent of the Army and offer confidential advice, support and signposting.

We work with any issue that an Army family may be experiencing including housing, health, education, childcare, employment, deployments, money matters and anything else which is important to our families.

We communicate, question and influence policy to improve the lives of serving and resettling Army families through support, information, and guidance.

We work nationally and overseas whilst also working at a strategic level with Senior Command and government.

Through collecting evidence, conducting research and collating information about the issues that are of concern, we can inform and influence the chain of command.

Following the appointment of our new Chief Executive last year and our new Chair this year, we are striving to be a leading Armed Forces families organisation, representing and communicating to everyone with a soldier in their lives.

We are looking to embark on a new strategy next year as we grow and reach more Army families around the world through our enhanced digital programmes.

With this in mind, we are looking to appoint a number of new Trustees with a wide range of skills and experiences including strategic finance, charity governance, in particular a charity leader, human resources, marketing and communications and people who have strong experience and knowledge of some of the challenges which Army families face.

The board meets quarterly (currently virtually) with one strategy away day a year and we have two sub committees (Governance and Remuneration) which meet once a year. We expect the time commitment to be up to a day a month inclusive of preparation time for meetings, reading board papers and events.
