Charity Secretary

About us

Spotlight YOPD raises awareness and support for those diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson's.

We are a small charity focused on a rare medical condition – Young Onset Parkinson's and we have some unique challenges and opportunities. For example:

  • How to educate a medical profession on a rare disease. Even neurologists are not well informed about YOPD let alone GP’s who mostly have not heard of the condition.
  • Working with researchers and companies who facilitate whole genome analysis

We have global visibility working with a number of large organisations such as the World Parkinson's Congress and David Phinney organisation. We also have a growing number of affiliates who are using our model to build a support network globally.
