Governance Senior Manager

Where you'll work:

The Governance and Secretariat team is responsible for providing a high quality support service to the Board of Governors, University Executive Group, Academic Board and other decision-making bodies of the University to help ensure that the University maintains efficient and effective governance arrangements.
 
About the role:

Working closely with the Head of Governance and Secretariat, you will be responsible for ensuring that there are effective governance and regulatory compliance arrangements in place within the University.  You will have responsibility for proactively reviewing governance and regulatory requirements, identifying where improvements can be made, and delivering solutions to ensure that the University's governance and regulatory compliance arrangements are robust, efficient and effective.

You will assist the Head in ensuring that the University operates within the prescribed constitutional and regulatory framework and in ensuring that the business of the Board of Governors, Academic Board and other senior University Committees is properly conducted, providing relevant and expert advice to Governors, the Vice-Chancellor, the Chief Operating Officer and other members of the University Executive Group. You will support the Head in leading and managing the team and you will also have responsibility for supporting a portfolio of senior University Committees.

You will use your excellent verbal and written communication skills in the production of high quality reports and minutes for consideration by the University's Management and Executive Groups as well as by the Board of Governors and other committees involved in governance and regulatory compliance

About You:

You will have a good working knowledge and understanding of corporate governance and the regulatory environment in which universities operate.  You will have excellent written skills with a keen eye for detail. You will be highly organised, proactive and able to work independently and accurately in a fast paced environment, and be able to assimilate high volumes of information to analyse and produce clear, concise reports and minutes to assist in effective and agile decision-making. You will be able to develop effective working relationships with colleagues at varying levels of seniority.  Able to deliver a consistently high standard of customer focused service, you will also be able to work flexibly in order to help this highly regarded Professional Services team deliver and continue to enhance its high quality, customer focused service.

We expect to hold interviews in February 2022.
