Trustees - VTCT

Number of positions: 4
Commitment (board roles): Full board meeting is 5 times annually. 1 day per month.

VTCT trustees are at the heart of our strategic direction and with our continued growth, we are looking for up to four new trustees to join our Board.

Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT) is the UK’s market-leading specialist awarding and assessment organisation focussed on developing world-class vocational and technical qualifications in a range of service sectors; including Hair, Barbering and Beauty, Complementary Therapies, Sport, Active Health & Fitness and Learning & Development.  We recently acquired “Skillsfirst” the awarding and end-point assessment organisation which further expands our offer in Early Years, Care and Functional Skills provision.

Operating for 60 years, we deliver our qualifications at over 2,000 approved training centres globally.  Our services are continuously evolving, and we work in partnership with employers and our customers to co-create industry recognised, high-quality and innovative products that address specific markets’ needs.

In 2021, we embarked on a new strategy and with Skillsfirst recently joining the VTCT group of companies, we have many opportunities ahead. Our trustees are at the heart of our strategic direction and support us to achieve our ambition. It is an exciting and complex time, and we are looking to appoint up to four new trustees to join our board during 2022.
We would value applications from people who bring experience of qualifications or assessment; healthcare or Early Years knowledge; apprenticeships; independent training provision; Further or Sixth Form Education; trade or technical media; or general experience of charity or public sector organisations.

We would welcome to hear from people who have relevant lived experience, perhaps as a young learner, and from those who are aspiring to be a first-time trustee. Most of all, we are looking for people to join us who have enthusiasm, commitment and a passion for advancing education for all people and all communities.

The role of a trustee is unpaid. However, all reasonable travel and subsistence costs, including accommodation, will be reimbursed. This reimbursement includes payments for any caring responsibilities you may incur for attending meetings. We will also provide a laptop/tablet and software.

The time commitment is around one day per month. If you have the passion and commitment to support us as we transform and evolve, we hope you will consider joining our board and contribute to our exciting future to deliver education for the public good.

Closing date: Monday 13th June 2022
