Bad AGMs and How to Avoid Them

Of interest to those working in companies, especially SmallCap and AIM companies

We are working with our friends at the Quoted Companies Alliance and Charles Russell Speechlys to offer our annual briefing session on Bad AGMs and How to Avoid Them.

Annual General Meetings mostly pass without incident, but what if you are managing shareholder concerns, an unexpected proposal or a surprise result on a vote?

This is an evening of essential tips to help avoid those difficult AGMs that no one wants to experience. The event will be based around a mock AGM role-play, aimed to provide practical guidance for issues should they arise as you prepare for the 2020 ‘AGM Season’.

Learn about the planning and preparation for your AGM, hear some disaster stories and discover how best to avoid them happening to you.

We will consider how to manage difficult attendees, deal with challenging questions, the responsibilities of the Chairman and issues around data as an asset of the company in a lively, interactive way. Our expert panel will endeavour to prepare you for (almost) every eventuality.

The speakers at the event will be:

  • Tim Worlledge, Non Executive Director, Filta Group Holdings PLC
  • Harry Chathli, Director, Luther Pendragon
  • Peter Swabey, Policy & Research Director, The Chartered Governance Institute
  • David Hicks, Partner, Charles Russell Speechlys
  • Jonathan McDonald, Partner, Charles Russell Speechlys

Date: Tuesday 21 January 2020
Time: 5pm (for a 5:30pm start) - 7pm Drinks & Canapes
Location: London Office of Charles Russell Speechlys LLP

This event is free to attend for all quoted companies. Book your place here.
