Camilla Barry

Camilla Barry is a Partner at Macfarlanes LLP. She has specialised in pensions law since 1997.

 

Camilla advises corporate groups, investors and trustees on all aspects of UK pensions law and practice.

 

She has particular experience advising employers managing change in pension provision, including switching from defined benefit provision to alternatives, the implementation of auto-enrolment and integration of auto-enrolment with tailored strategies.

 

Other particular interests include assisting employers and trustees dealing with the UK Pensions Regulator, funding and governance issues, pension liability management and risk transfers and the impact of EU legislation on pension scheme regulation and employee rights. Camilla regularly advises on pensions in the context of corporate restructurings and transactions, including management of statutory debts.

 

Camilla also acts for corporate and trustee clients in proceedings in the High Court and in front of the Pensions Ombudsman and the Pensions Regulator.

 

Camilla is chairman of the Association of Pension Lawyers (APL) International Sub-committee and a regular speaker at events organised by the APL and the International Pension and Employee Benefits Lawyers Association.
