Information Officer

If you’re looking to further develop your information management career while being exposed to a fascinating range of information, come and be part of our structure for success.

The Houses of Parliament Restoration and Renewal (R&R) Programme is set to be the UK’s biggest and most complex ever renovation programme. Indeed, significant work is needed to protect and preserve this fascinating UNESCO World Heritage site and ensure it can continue to serve as the home of the UK Parliament in the 21st Century. Accordingly, we’re looking for people with proven relevant expertise and a real desire to help shape our future - and improve our current capabilities - to take on this rewarding role.

One in a small but growing pool of Information Officers, we’ll look to you to support the work of our Information Management function. How? By securing programme information and data of evidentiary, heritage or social value and ensuring its future retrievability via quality organisation and registration. You’ll also be responsible for seeing that a range of information management services are provided and developed to meet the changing requirements of stakeholders, both in and around the Programme. And, when it comes to supporting the delivery of the Programme’s Information Management Strategy and plan of work or delivering a series of change projects aimed at increasing the maturity of the team’s services, again, we’ll count on you.

To succeed, you’ll need proven information management experience gained in a complex programme environment or similar setting - ideally in a start-up or an organisation going through transformation. Some knowledge of organisational change initiatives is also required, and if you’ve worked on the early phases of a major infrastructure programme and/or with historical content such as archives (digitisation and/or description), even better - although this is not essential. An undergraduate or post graduate qualification in Information Management or a related field, would be useful too, although, again, this is not a must have.
