Graduate trainees join the comprehensive graduate training programme which combines formal training with on-the-job learning delivered by their expert company secretarial professionals and corporate lawyers. The programme typically takes around one year to complete, and on successful completion, participants continue as part of theur professional advisory team with further opportunities for long-term career progression.

Typical responsibilities of a graduate trainee:

  • Providing company secretarial advice and services to clients and building and maintaining relationships with a designated client portfolio
  • Developing specialist knowledge of, and advising clients on, compliance with company law and regulation
  • Delivering a first-class company incorporation service to our law firm clients
  • Drafting high-quality legal and company secretarial documents
  • Developing proficiency in the use of industry standard company secretarial software
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects for clients, such as compliance reviews/audits and corporate transactions
  • Working on all administrative aspects of client service delivery and maintenance of clients’ corporate legal records


Skills required


  • Demonstrable interest in a legal / company secretarial / governance career
  • Qualification to degree level with 2:1 or above (in any discipline)
  • First class administrative skills
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to all tasks
  • Positive, can-do, friendly attitude and flexible approach
