2 Roles: Chair of Audit and Risk Committee and 1 Trustee | NEBOSH

NEBOSH is an Educational Charity that operates commercially in order to save lives, protect people in the workplace, and support sustainability worldwide. We achieve this through our range of qualifications, designed to give learners the skills and knowledge they need to make a difference. We are an internationally recognised awarding organisation and have UK Approved Awarding Body Status from the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Accreditation.

We are currently recruiting for:

  • Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee
  • Trustee (Education/Assessment)

This is an exciting time to join the Board of NEBOSH and have an impact on our growth, development, strategy, and goals, after a significant period of growth and transformation, ensuring we have the funds to invest further in delivering our Charity’s objects. However, there is further development and transformation to embark on as we continue delivery of our five-year Strategic Intent. As a Board, we work collaboratively with our high-performing Executive Team to encourage creativity, innovation, and pioneering impactful developments in the profession.

Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee

We are looking to appoint a new Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee. This person will be financially qualified with strong governance and commercial experience who can support, challenge, interpret and scrutinise while supporting other Trustees and working with our Chief Executive Officer and Director of Finance.

We expect the time commitment for our new Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee, to be a minimum of 12 days a year.

Trustee (Education/Assessment)

In addition to this appointment, we are looking to add skills to the existing Board which include experience in an awarding body or a regulated learning and assessment environment, who understands the development of regulated qualifications.

The time commitment for Trustees is expected to be circa 12 days per year and will include all of the above, including contact with the Chair and other Trustees outside of the main meetings.

About the Board

The Board meets 4 times a year in Leicestershire, and, subject to membership requirements, all Trustees will be given the opportunity to join one of our committees (Audit and Risk Committee or Remuneration & Nomination Committee), meeting up to an additional 4 times a year. The Board also meets for strategic away days and Board development days once a year.

All Board appointments are for a term of 3 years, and all Trustees are eligible to serve for a maximum of 2 terms.
