Company Secretary / Governance Manager

Henley Royal Regatta is an annual, river-based rowing regatta, located on the River Thames in Henley-on-Thames.  The event is a highlight of both the sporting calendar and the summer social season.

Following a detailed review of Corporate Governance, this new role will be tasked with implementing and supporting the development of a new governance structure, including ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory matters while facilitating decision making.

With a strong company secretarial background, candidates will need to demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills, backed up with excellent IT capabilities. A practical understanding of legal matters will be a distinct advantage.

We anticipate this position will occupy 28 to 35 hours per week initially (while implementing the outcomes of the review), including a requirement to attend Board Meetings (approximately 10 a year, usually on a Sunday morning at Regatta HQ), with the opportunity to reduce hours once the position is established.
