Who we are.

It’s in Nottingham is Nottingham’s city centre business improvement district – (formerly Nottingham BID). It is one of the largest BIDs in the country with over 800 members.  They operate as a business-led, not for profit organisation, working to build a better Nottingham. It has an annual income of over £1 million operating with a small team led by Chief Executive, Alex Flint.

By working with member businesses and partners, It’s in Nottingham remains committed to achieving economic growth for Nottingham city centre. Their passion for Nottingham and commitment to supporting and promoting their members will drive economic growth – creating a vibrant city centre which is a destination of choice for businesses, residents, and visitors.

The Board.

The It’s in Nottingham Board of Directors is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the organisation, its financial health, probity of its activities and the development of the organisation’s aims, objectives and goals in line with its governing document, and legal and regulatory guidelines.

Who we are looking for.

The Board seeks three new Directors to join the Board who will share the vision and be passionate about Nottingham City.  Working with an engaged and committed Board, Directors will support a high-performing and talented team to make Nottingham an exciting and thriving city.

The Board seeks Directors who will be collaborative and dynamic leaders with strategic vision, sound commercial and financial acumen, and excellent communication skills to provide support and constructive challenge.

To complement the experiences and skills currently on the Board, they are keen to appoint people who bring a range of experience in one of the following areas:

  • Arts, cultural or heritage
  • Commercial property, real estate, property development or investment
  • Nottingham higher education

Time commitment and term of office.

The term of office is one year, and Directors can stand for re-election each year at the annual AGM.

The time commitment is up to one day per month with time required to attend four full board meetings per year, review of papers and meeting preparation, AGM, strategy away days, undertaking projects, investigation or review of key decisions and supporting events which may involve some evenings.
