The Open SU (legally known as the OU Students Association), is proud to represent over 170,000 students from all walks of life. We seek a values-led expert in finance and risk to join our Finance, Resource and Risk Committee as an external member.

Open SU is the largest students' union in the UK, representing over 170,000 diverse learners across the four nations and beyond. As an integral part of this vibrant, student-led organisation, we’re seeking a values-driven individual with financial expertise to join our Finance, Resource and Risk Committee as an external member.

This voluntary role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic oversight of a £2 million organisation committed to empowering part-time, distance-learning students. You’ll bring an external perspective, challenge assumptions, and support sound financial decision-making in a collaborative and inclusive environment.

We’re looking for someone with strong financial acumen, experience with risk and governance, and a passion for education and equity.
