We are looking for an experienced Governance Manager to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent role based at our central London office.

This is a great opportunity for an established Governance Manager with extensive experience of supporting charitable boards and ensuring Charity Commission compliance in a national charitable organisation.

As Governance Manager, you will work with the CEO and Chair to ensure that English Heritage follows effective, transparent and accountable, first-class governance procedures which comply with the highest standards and fulfil charity and statutory requirements.

You'll:

  • Act as Secretary to the Board of Trustees, managing its meetings and those of its committees
  • Ensure that English Heritage is fulfilling its governance requirements
  • Manage the Charity's governance appointments policy and processes

To be considered for the role, you'll need:

  • Extensive experience in a governance role, ideally in a national charity
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High attention to detail and regard for confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently
