Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance

About Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC)
Established in 1991, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has successfully operated the region’s pre-hospital helicopter-led emergency medical services, for nearly 30 years.  Working across six counties - the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, and Gloucestershire - we provide our lifesaving service for a growing population of 6 million. Every year we need to raise over £9 million to deliver a 365-day operation, which is entirely funded by the general public and local business within the region.

About the role
We are seeking an outstanding candidate to join an ambitious and forward-thinking charity to lead on the management of governance, risk management and compliance (including providing Company Secretary services to the Board, Committees and Senior Leadership Team).  The post holder will develop, implement and maintain appropriate policies and procedures to ensure the organisation’s adherence to all laws, regulations and guidance.

Location = Stourbridge, West Midlands (plus attendance at off-site meetings as required, usually across the Midlands).

About you
You will have experience of leading governance, risk and compliance functions, alongside significant management experience, within the charity or not for profit sectors. Demonstrating emotional intelligence, it is essential that you are a strong team player and can inspire and motivate those around you. You will be highly organised with the ability to prioritise and delegate, as well as bringing excellent communication skills with the confidence to support internal and external stakeholders.

If you are looking to join a supportive and high-functioning team and bring a clear alignment to the mission and values of the Charity then we would welcome your application.
