Company Secretary

Work and Play Scrapstore are a thriving re-use charity in Tooting SW London providing art, craft, design and play materials for schools, students, artists, community organisations and families, all donated by eco-friendly businesses as surplus or waste.  

They are looking for a Company Secretary to join the six-strong Board of Trustees. The company secretary’s role is to ensure that the charity complies with the requirements of company law and may also execute legal documents for the charity if authorised by the board.

One future project is an update of the charity’s constitution. The Company Secretary would also help organise the AGM. 
 
In a ‘normal’ year Trustees meet four times plus attend the AGM.

Work and Play Scrapstore have been working for over 30 years to promote the green agenda and sustainability. They aim to cut carbon emissions by diverting materials from landfills and incineration. They reuse over 60 tonnes of waste each year through the Scrapstore, outreach work, volunteering and artistic adventures.
