About NCHA

We are Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA); one of the largest locally-based housing groups in the East Midlands. We manage over 9,500 homes and house more than 20,000 tenants across the East Midlands in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland.

We employ over 1,100 members of staff, and have a commitment to training and apprenticeships. We offer fantastic staff benefits.

Our annual turnover is over £80 million, and our properties are worth over £500 million. In 2013, we celebrated our 40th anniversary. At 45 years old, we are still going strong!

We provide care and support across the East Midlands, with over 990,000 hours of care provided in 2018/2019 for the most vulnerable people in society. Our work covers mental healthlearning disabilitiesdomestic violenceAsian eldersvulnerable young peoplehomelessness, teenage parents and older persons, whether they need a place to live or support in their own homes.

We’ve been developing new homes since 1973, and are working in partnership with 19 local authorities to build new affordable homes that meet local needs. This includes homes for sale, rent (at affordable rents, as well as market and intermediate levels), shared ownership, and ‘try before you buy’ schemes.

Our Framework Delivery Agreements with the Homes England (HE), for the years 2015-21 are to develop around 800 new homes through the Affordable Homes and Shared Ownership programme.

We are a lead member of the Blue Skies Consortium, a group of 14 housing associations, and an investment partner directly with the HE outside of the consortium for other programmes and initiatives.

Pitch, formally known as POD, is a consultancy registered as a Limited Liability Partnership jointly owned by Longhurst Group and NCHA. Pitch was formed in 2005 with the purpose of providing development services to other Housing Associations and Local Authorities to enable the delivery of more affordable homes for families and people in housing need.

We conduct regular surveys with our tenants: 91% of them are satisfied with the service we provide [STAR survey 2017]. This puts us in the top quartile of housing associations for customer satisfaction. We are accredited by the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS).

Underpinning everything that NCHA does is a commitment to equality and diversity, value for money, social responsibility, adding social value and delivering our core values of:

  • Caring - We care about what we do and the way we do it
  • Lean - We learn, improve and put the customer first to get better results
  • Enthusiastic - We are engaged and motivated to make a difference
  • Accountable - We are answerable for what we do and don't do
  • Resilient - We are ready to respond to opportunities and challenges.
