Part-time Board Support/Admin - 8 Month FTC / Non-profit organisation | London/Remote

Our Client is a well-established charity that is looking for part-time cover for a Board Support/Admin position. This is to cover a sabbatical leave and will be an 8-month FTC starting in January 2024. This role is part of a job share and covers 22.5 hours 60% of the FTE. Working days can be discussed during the interview process as there is room for flexibility. Hybrid work is on offer with 2 days in the office preferred.  A salary of £37,799.92 per annum (£22,679.95 per annum pro-rated) is on offer.

JOB PURPOSE
To provide a high-quality professional service to ensure the effective coordination of governance, including delivery and recording of Trustee meetings. The role works closely with the Board Chair, Committee Chairs, Board and Committee members and the Executive to provide governance advice and be responsible for the meeting process.

The role holder should be an effective communicator, who is good at building relationships, has excellent organisational skills and maintains high standards of corporate governance. They will be a trusted support to the Board, Executive and Committees therefore diplomacy and understanding of sensitivities relating to confidential information and deadlines when managing meetings is essential.

The job role is currently filled as a job share and we are looking for an individual to cover half of the role at 60% time. The current arrangements of the share mean that the portion of the following job description we anticipate the successful candidate to cover includes:

  • Organisation and execution of full board meetings
  • Direct support to the Chair of the Board
  • Support for all Trustees on expenses, travel arrangements.
  • Support to Associate Trustee programme
  • Organise and support the annual trustee induction process
  • Board policy review and implementation (shared responsibility, project specific)

This list is non-exhaustive but intended to provide candidates with an indication of the likely portion of responsibilities. The arrangement of responsibilities within the share can be fluid as agreed by the individuals taking part in the job share and the need for flexibility within areas of responsibility to ensure seamless support to the Board is key. Key to the success of the share is a high degree of communication between the individuals sharing the role and the various Trustee and Executive stakeholders. The role holder must be a highly effective communicator with excellent attention to detail, high standards and the ability to be flexible and responsive.
