Up to 120K DOE, Hybrid

We have been exclusively instructed by the award-winning, fast growing challenger bank, Monzo, who are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Senior Assistant Company Secretary to join their high-calibre team reporting to the MBL Company Secretary. This newly created role will involve working closely with the Group Board and its subsidiary Boards where you will be expected to provide corporate secretarial advisory support to the senior leadership team. You will be joining Monzo during an exciting period of high growth as they continue making impressive strides on their mission of making money work for everyone and doing things differently. The ideal candidate will have strong financial services and PLC experience, be comfortable advising and managing Boards and thrive in a fast-paced environment, along with having a true belief in Monzo’s mission. Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end to end process for Board and Board Committee meetings. 
  • Ad hoc/deputising Secretary for Monzo’s subsidiary Boards. 
  • Work with Group finance function and Group Company Secretary in preparation for the Annual Report and Accounts for the main group and subsidiaries.
  • Advise on UK Company Law matters, including director duties and corporate governance advice.
  • Support the annual effectiveness review process for the Board and its Committees.
  • Support in key governance projects including corporate restructuring, and listed entity preparation.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Extensive company secretarial and governance experience working in a financial services and listed environment, ideally listed banks or fintech.
  •  Strong minuting experience, acting as Secretary to boards and committees.
  • Confident operating at and liaising with all levels of the organisation, including the Board and ExCo. 
  • Sound knowledge of corporate governance, listed and financial regulations.
  • Ideally qualified.
