Governance Manager – Government Backed Private Company

We are working on a newly created Governance Manager position within a government-owned private company, specialising in the healthcare industry. Working closely with the Company Secretary, the role holder will be involved in a wide remit of governance duties and will service the organisation’s Board and Committees. A huge benefit is that the role will be predominantly remote, with travel only required for in-person meetings. Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Providing Secretariat support to the Board and Committees, ensuring that papers and agendas are prepared, along with sound minute taking
  • Advising senior stakeholders on governance matters
  • Line managing junior members of the team
  • Assist with the production of the governance handbook and drafting terms of reference

 

Experience and Qualifications

  • CGI qualified (desirable)
  • Demonstratable experience of implementing change and advising on governance best practice, ideally within public/not-for-profit sector. 
  • Experience working in a senior governance role in a complex organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience liaising with both internal and external stakeholders, dealing with sensitive and confidential issues.

  • Possess a strong and confident approach, including when working with and advising high-profile company staff and board members.
  • Flexible and pro-active attitude, with the capacity to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
