Head of Company Secretariat and Governance (12 -14 month FTC Maternity Cover) – Property Management
London/Hybrid

We’ve been instructed by a well renown property business looking to recruit a Head of Company Secretariat and Governance to cover maternity leave, based in their London offices 3 days a week, and reporting to the CEO with a dotted line to the Chair. This is a very interesting organisation that has a number of interesting projects with a strong social purpose and good governance standards. You will be responsible for providing governance advice to the Board and Committees and managing the team across all aspects of corporate governance and company secretarial tasks. The company has a very strong company culture and governance is very well respected. The ideal candidate will possess strong company secretarial experience and have exceptional EQ to work very closely with the SLT on a regular basis. Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide first-class governance advisory support to the Board and Committees.
- Responsible for running the company secretarial team ensuring high standards are maintained and junior members are mentored.
- Work closely with the Chair and Chief Executive in preparation for meetings.
- Ensure compliance is maintained with respect to regulatory requirements.
- Review and update terms of reference
- Lead in the preparation and creation of the governance section of the annual report
Experience and qualifications
- Exceptional stakeholder management experience
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Experience leading teams
- An ability to act strategically
- Exceptional UK Corporate Governance Code knowledge
