Head of Governance & Risk | Connexus Homes

DMJ are delighted to be exclusively supporting Connexus Homes on their search for a new Head of Governance & Risk (Company Secretary).

Connexus is a community focused rural housing group based in Craven Arms, with over 10,500 homes across Shropshire and Herefordshire. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced governance professional who will hold a vital role within the organisation. You'll provide expert advice to the CEO & Board on governance and risk matters and will work to ensure that the strategic objectives of the company meet all legal and regulatory requirements.

About the Role

As Head of Governance & Risk, you will:

• Lead a team of 4, providing first class company secretarial support to Connexus and its subsidiaries.
• Lead on governance, risk management, internal audit, corporate policies, business continuity, insurance, data protection, and legal services.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement.
• As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be collectively responsible for the implementation of strategic priorities and operational plans.

We’re looking for a governance professional with:

• Experience as a Company Secretary of a registered provider (preferred) or of a not for profit service delivery organisation operating in a highly regulated sector, for example charity, health or social care.
• Experience at management level, leading a team of governance professionals.
• A strategic mindset with the ability to influence at Board level.
• A proactive and solutions-driven approach.

This role is offering a competitive base salary + car allowance + benefits, alongside flexible hybrid working requirements (1+ day/week from the head office based in Craven Arms).
