Interim Senior Assistant Company Secretary

We are working with a highly successful FTSE100 international retailer, headquartered in the North West, which continues to grow at pace in the UK and globally. This is a dynamic, entrepreneurial business with an expanding governance function and a strong focus on operational excellence, innovation and sustainable growth.
The company is now looking to appoint an Interim Senior Assistant Company Secretary to support the Deputy Company Secretary and play a pivotal role in a broad range of governance, compliance and corporate activities. The role offers significant exposure to the Executive and Board, as well as involvement in strategic projects and corporate initiatives across the Group. Key Role & Responsibilities
- Lead on Board and Committee administration, including agenda planning, meeting coordination and minute taking
- Support governance and compliance across UK and international subsidiaries within a global governance framework
- Oversee Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) compliance, including managing insider lists and training
- Contribute to the production of the Annual Report & Accounts, liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage shareholder meetings, including the AGM
- Coordinate director onboarding and training, as well as maintenance of registers and conflicts of interest logs
- Provide company secretarial input into corporate projects, including M&A and group restructuring
- Mentor junior team members and deputise for the Deputy Company Secretary as required
Experience & Qualifications
- CGI qualified (preferred)
- Listed environment (essential)
- Sound knowledge of UK corporate governance and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Experience managing subsidiary governance and corporate actions
- Prior mentoring or leadership experience (desirable)
