Chartered Secretary– Top City Law Firm

£Competitive, London (Hybrid – 2 days wfh)

A leading and award winning international law firm is seeking a Chartered Secretary to join its well-regarded Corporate Secretarial Department in London. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team that supports clients in complying with company law requirements, handling regulatory filings and enabling them to focus on their core business operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of high-profile client companies
  • Incorporating new companies and maintaining statutory records
  • Supporting UK aspects of corporate reorganisations, mergers and acquisitions
  • Coordinating and advising on due diligence exercises
  • Maintaining corporate databases (e.g. Sharepoint/Extranet platforms)
  • Advising on routine company law matters and filings
  • Assisting other departments with corporate governance queries as needed

 

Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a company secretarial or corporate governance role
  • Sound knowledge of UK company law, particularly the Companies Act 2006 and the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023
  • Confident user of Companies House systems
  • Prior experience in a professional services or client-facing environment is advantageous
  • Chartered Secretary qualification (or working towards it) preferred
  • Law degree and/or Legal Practice Course desirable
