Our client, a global insurance business, have enlisted our help in finding them a motivated Trainee Company Secretary to join their growing London-based team. Within the role, you will support the company secretariat to ensure the function runs smoothly, adhering to all relevant regulatory requirements. The business is looking for someone educated to degree level, who exhibits enthusiasm and confidence to deal with senior leadership, and is eager to become fully CGI-qualified. This is a fantastic permanent, full time position and will set you off in the right direction for a strong career within governance!
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Aid with the preparation of board/committee packs agendas, minute templates, and following up on relevant actions
- Maintain the company’s International statutory corporate governance structures and Companies House filings
- Support the Assistant Company Secretaries to ensure that all relevant records of group entities are kept up to date, as well as assisting with collating information, KYC enquiries and other correspondence
- Provide administrative support to the Secretariat, including supporting the research of ongoing regulatory and governance developments, to aid continuous improvement initiatives
- Liaise with senior stakeholders throughout the company
Experience and Qualifications
- Educated to degree level, ideally within a related subject
- Demonstrate a clear desire to pursue a company secretarial career and complete the CGI qualification
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant software

- Excellent communication, both verbal and written, with keen attention to detail and analytical skills
- Able to continually produce work to a high standard, whilst able to prioritise shifting workloads and work well under pressure within tight deadlines
- Proactive team player, with the capacity to also work independently and take responsibility for all work
