Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a detailed-oriented, ambitious Governance Manager within the education sector.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the governance function across the trust by providing advice, clerking services and administrative support to the Trust Board, its committees and Local Governing Bodies.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the effective operation of governance across the Trust by providing professional advice, clerking services and administrative support to the Trust Board, its committees and Local Governing Bodies (LGBs), ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Provide clerking services to LGBs and Trust Committees, including agenda preparation, minute-taking and action tracking.
- To ensure governance processes comply with the Trust’s Articles of Association, Scheme of Delegation and statutory guidance.
Experience and Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of the school system, governance law, structures, policy and practice in academy trusts.
- Prior experience in governance across other areas in education would also be considered.
- CGI Qualification is desirable, but not essential.

- Have strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Be adaptable and ready to learn, with a commitment to professional development.
- Show high levels of integrity, confidentiality and commitment to safeguarding.
Our client operates a hybrid working model, with a requirement to attend in-person meetings only.
