Head of PLC Governance – Listed Financial Services
£90,000-£110,000, Kent (Hybrid – 2 days WFH)
We are recruiting for a Head of PLC Governance to support a listed financial services company through the next stage of their exciting transformation journey.
This senior position plays a pivotal role in strengthening the organisation’s corporate governance framework, leading the PLC team, taking a lead on the AGM and acting as Secretary to one of the main PLC committees.
Reporting to the Group Head of Corporate Governance, this is a high-impact role for an experienced governance professional who thrives on delivering high quality plc work while supporting the development of a resilient governance framework that underpins business success.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the PLC governance workstream for the department, ensuring full compliance with all listed company obligations, including the AGM, Annual Report, shareholder communications, and regulatory disclosures.
- Provide expert guidance on corporate governance requirements, staying ahead of regulatory developments and emerging best practices.
- Strengthen and evolve the Group’s governance framework to support effective Board and committee operations, informed decision-making, and clear delegation of authority.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to conduct performance evaluations of management committees and maintain consistent governance standards across divisions.
- Serve as Secretary to designated Boards and Committees, overseeing meeting preparation, accurate minute-taking, and prompt action tracking.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members, cultivating a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within the corporate secretariat.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Significant governance experience within a listed corporate secretariat function. Financial Services experience would be desirable but not necessary.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Previous line management experience is required.
- A professional qualification such as Chartered Governance Institute accreditation (or equivalent).
