Governance Project of the Year

A project might be defined as being a planned endeavour, a piece of work that is carried out individually or collaboratively, carefully planned, resourced and managed and which leads to the achievement of a specific goal.

This award recognises those governance projects that are such significance strategically that they could be described as ’transformational’. Nominees may have achieved any one of a variety of things. They may have taken a novel approach to managing risk, for example, or transformed the governance of their subsidiaries. They may perhaps have aimed to drive greater value to investors and stakeholders, or maybe worked on a merger or takeover. Or perhaps they set out to drive higher standards of governance across the organisation.

Whatever the project, the judges are looking for evidence of its having had a positive impact, and of learning having been shared across the organisation. Nominees can be individuals or teams, and the project must have been completed within the 12 months to 31 July 2021.
