Shaping IFI Systems: Board Governance and the Way Forward

CPD Event

Overview

EBRD Policy Academy cordially invites you to an exploration on shaping IFI Systems: Boards Governance and the way forward. Join the discussion on Thursday 20 June 2024, from 4 pm to 6 pm, at the Auditorium in the EBRD Headquarters, Canary Wharf, London.

Dive into a critical discussion on IFI Corporate Governance with leading experts. After an introduction from EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso, our presenter, Tom Edmondston-Low, Director of Board & Institutional Affairs at the EBRD, will share the findings from his latest research into the difference between corporate governance practice at International Finance Institutions and the private sector (which IFI’s are always asked to use).

Following Tom’s presentation, Kyle Peters, former Senior VP of Operations at the World Bank & G20 Eminent Persons Group Secretariat, will moderate a rich discussion between a wide range of distinguished panellists, including Andrés Velasco, Amar Bhattacharya, Ivana Gažić, Melanie Robinson, Enzo Quattrociocche and Stilpon Nestor.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • Does non-standard governance mean bad governance?
  • Should IFI’s benchmark themselves against private sector standards?
  • What key governance reforms should be delivered in IFIs?

As an attendee, get ready to engage, pose questions, and contribute in real time to this lively discussion alongside experts in corporate governance from both IFIs, academia, and the private sector.

Join us either online or in person!

For those who can make it to the EBRD HQ, you are also invited to join the drinks reception and networking event from 17:30 to 19:00 BST in the Auditorium Ante-Area.

Don't miss this opportunity to be part of the conversation on shaping the future of IFI systems!
