Join the East Midlands branch as we look at responsible sustainability leadership. Recent research by the Institute questions the need for organisations today across all sectors to have board sustainability committees and sustainability leadership - Governing Sustainability: Are sustainability committees the answer? (available on the Institute’s website).
Conclusions from the research are for a growth in sustainability responsibilities in many organisations led by governance codes, regulation, responsible leadership principles, impact investment and UK Government commitment to the United Nations 2030 Agenda and recent publication of UK Government sustainability reporting standards required for companies from 2027. All these create a sustainability management, practice and reporting culture for every organisation to adopt to continue to make the world a better place for future generations.
Professor Mike Saks, Chair of the organisation for International Responsible Leadership (IRL) will talk on responsible leadership principles every organisation should adopt today and in future to make sustainability matter.
Dr Valentina Dotto (CGI Policy) will talk on the excellent position corporate governance professionals are in to collaborate with others to guide the sustainability strategy, practice and reporting on sustainability matters for their organisations, their stakeholders and public at large.
