Corporate Governance Assistant - Leeds/Hybrid

Our client is a Retirement Solutions company that is now looking to bring on a Corporate Governance Assistant on a full-time permanent basis into a brand new role. You will be joining a newly formed team reporting to the Company Secretary/Governance Manager and working alongside another Corporate Governance Assistant who will be joining the team soon.

There is a hybrid work structure of 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH, This comes with some flexibility as some weeks will require more time in the office due to meetings and some weeks less. There is a competitive salary on offer depending on experience.

Areas of Responsibilities
 

  1. Coordinating and managing projects as required on behalf of the Governance team including research, developing recommendations, planning and task tracking.
  2. Assisting with drafting and coordinating papers for Committee meetings including formatting papers to ensure they meet brand guidelines and uploading documents to a secure portal to share with the Directors.
  3. Acting as Committee Secretary for meetings within the governance structure including preparing meeting agendas, taking minutes at meetings and following up on action points.
  4. Maintaining statutory registers, CPD logs, gifts & hospitality registers, and conflict of interest logs for Directors.
  5. Supporting the Corporate Governance Manager with coordinating Board training, to ensure regulatory compliance and continued professional development.
  6. Assisting with recruitment and on-boarding for Non-Executive Director roles, including liaising with key agency partners to arrange interviews, undertaking checks (including DBS and ID checks) and induction planning.
  7. Supporting the Corporate Governance Manager with managing the diary of key governance meetings across the wider Group.
  8. To fully understand the business meeting calendar, reporting structures and meeting structures and to implement / operate the appropriate administration to effectively support it.
  9. Providing general PA support to the HR & Corporate Governance Director including diary management, inbox management and travel bookings as required.
  10. Supporting the wider corporate governance team with administration tasks as required.
  11. To perform all duties in line with the company's Information Security policy.
  12. To comply with the Data Protection Policy when dealing with personal data in the course of employment including personal data relating to any employee, customer, client, supplier or agent of the Company.
