Memorandum of Understanding – ICSI and ICSAN

Memorandum of Understanding – Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries India or the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators Nigeria.

The Chartered Governance Institute has a special arrangement with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries India (ICSI) and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators Nigeria (ICSAN), where members of these Institutes can study the Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme and be exempt from certain modules.

ICSI

If you are a current Associate or Fellow of ICSI with a minimum of two years’ relevant experience/training in governance, you may be exempt from up to four modules from the full Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme. Eligible candidates are only required to undertake: Company Law, Corporate Governance and Risk Management and on successful completion, will be upgraded from student to Associate, with the designations ACG.

Please note following successful endorsement, your details will be passed to the Membership team who will request payment of £857, which covers: the initial registration fee, the annual student membership fee and the exemption fee for the four exempted modules.  If you have a question please take a look at our FAQS in the first instance or email the membership team.

ICSAN

If you are a current member of ICSAN and completed your final exam after November 2011, you may be exempt from five modules and would be required to complete: Corporate Governance and Risk Management.

To register you must complete the MOU registration form and submit it to ICSAN’s Endorsing Officer who will need to confirm your application before you submit it to The Institute.

Your registration application must be submitted to The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland with the following fees: the initial registration fee, annual student membership fee and exemption fee for the five exempted modules. The current fees can be viewed here.
