Building Board Effectiveness for Health and Safety

A one-day course looking at health and safety as a strategic, integral part of good corporate governance.

Overview

When you are reviewing board development needs with your Chair is heath, safety and wellbeing an issue you’ve considered? Or, perhaps it’s an issue that board members feel would be a good item for a refresher?

Maybe you’re not at this stage of development? Are you the person who ends up dealing with health and safety issues for the board? How does your board talk about health and safety issues for your organisation? Does it even make the agenda?

Whatever the case, the fact is that health, safety and wellbeing is now in the spotlight more than ever before. Boards need to have it on their radar and the ability to deal with it as a strategic business issue, as well as it being an organisational compliance issue.

Changes in the strategic context for health, safety and wellbeing over recent years have been significant. They include a much more active focus on health and wellbeing as well as traditional safety issues. The potential for much higher legal penalties and ramifications as well as significant reputational damage. And, on the more positive side, the very real benefits from understanding how good health, safety and wellbeing can contribute to good governance, business sustainability and success.

If you’d like to learn more about the links between good governance and a more strategic board level approach to health, safety and wellbeing why not come along to our interactive, half day session?
