GRAD-001 Navigating AI: A Guide for Co Secs & Boards
- Duration: 4 hours
- Focus: Understanding AI and Generative AI, comparing enterprise and consumer applications, and building confidence in discussing AI with colleagues.
Learning Outcomes:
- Critically distinguish between Generative AI and the broader landscape of AI, understanding their core principles, diverse capabilities and limitations
- Analyse the fundamental differences between consumer and enterprise AI applications, evaluating their distinct value propositions, risks, and governance requirements
- Assess the genuine necessity and strategic fit of AI solutions for specific organisational roles and operations, identifying where AI can or cannot add value
- Develop strategies for effective internal stakeholder engagement and build compelling cases for the responsible adoption of AI within their organisation
- Establish practical frameworks for governing AI use and discussion within the Boardroom and Secretariat, ensuring confident oversight and ethical integration
GRAD-002 AI Discussions in the Boardroom: Masterclass
- Duration: 4 hours
- Focus: Sifting through AI "noise," framing AI discussions, and developing a robust AI reporting approach.
Learning Outcomes:
- Assess board dynamics and current organisational positioning regarding AI adoption and understanding
- Evaluate the prevailing organisational culture around AI, encompassing the Board, C-Suite, and Senior Management
- Analyse the strategic risks associated with both investment in, and inaction regarding, AI initiatives
- Articulate the parallels between the historical rise of Audit and Risk leadership and the emerging need for dedicated AI leadership at board level
- Develop advanced strategies for effectively integrating AI discussions onto the boardroom agenda and securing organisational buy-in
GRAD-003 Deploying AI in the Secretariat: Masterclass
- Duration: 4 hours
- Focus: Addressing privacy, security, IP, and discoverability in AI deployment within the Secretariat.
Learning Outcomes:
- Identify and navigate the internal hurdles and stakeholder concerns (e.g., legal, risk, ethics) associated with deploying AI initiatives
- Determine optimal areas within the Secretariat to apply AI for maximum return on investment and minimal resistance
- Develop a practical deployment plan for integrating AI solutions effectively within any organisational Secretariat
- Formulate strategies to optimally combine human expertise with AI capabilities for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness in governance operations
- Distinguish which core processes and human judgement aspects within the Board-Secretariat function are unlikely to be fully automated by AI
GRAD-004 AI Regulatory Landscape for Boards: Masterclass
- Duration: 4 hours
- Focus: Understanding global AI legislation and compliance responsibilities for the Secretariat and Board.
Learning Outcomes:
- Summarise and interpret the evolving global AI regulatory landscape (e.g., EU, UK, US, China), assessing its impact on operations and compliance challenges from existing AI products (e.g., data freshness, usage terms)
- Articulate the distinct yet interconnected roles of Legal, Risk, and Ethics functions in ensuring AI compliance and responsible deployment for both new and existing solutions
- Identify and assess common legal, compliance, and ethical pitfalls in AI deployment, including data privacy, IP, liability, and algorithmic bias, as they manifest in existing AI products and platforms
- Define the Board's pivotal role in governing AI, establishing robust oversight and cross-functional coordination (legal, risk, ethics), including evaluating risks from incumbent AI technologies
- Develop strategies for strategic horizon scanning and integrating ethical AI decision-making into board-level processes, navigating the complex AI regulatory and governance landscape and considering existing and future AI products
