We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Professor Andrew Kakabadse, a globally respected academic and a pioneering figure in the governance and leadership community.

The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland (CGIUKI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Linda Ford as its new Chief Executive Officer. Linda will take up the role in late September 2025, succeeding current CEO Sara Drake, who has led the Institute since 2019.

Ruairí Cosgrove FCG has been elected President of CGIUKI, effective 1 August 2025. He succeeds Charles Brown FCG, whose term ends on 31 July. The Institute also welcomes Kerry Round FCG to the Board.

The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland (the Institute) has welcomed publication today of the UK Stewardship Code 2026 by the Financial Reporting Council, noting that several of its key recommendations have been reflected in the final text.

CGIUKI will accredit Henley’s MA Board Practice and Directorship Qualification, and award Affiliated Member status to students who successfully complete the programme.

Sara Drake will step down to focus on her non-executive roles and other projects.
