Message from the President in the Irish Agenda.
Join us for the milestone 10th edition of Governance Ireland 2024, the premier annual conference for governance professionals across Ireland! The theme of the flagship event revolves around 'Sustainability – At the heart of governance', shedding light on the pivotal challenges facing governance professionals today.
Don't miss out on the opportunity to be part of the largest gathering of governance experts in Ireland.
We headed west for our first CPD event of the year. Thaks so much to Anna Holland and her colleagues in FCS Corporate Services for being such wonderful hosts. An excellent informative evening with some very useful networking included.
We have some excellent in person training events on Minute taking in May and September and an Introduction to the Role of the Company Secretary later this year in October.
Should you have any queries in respect of qualifying as a Company Secretary or Governance Professional or a more general query in respect of the Irish Region, please contact our Business Development Manager, Conn Cleary at ccleary@cgi.org.uk.
We offer a service for members and students where they can receive weekly emails highlighting the latest vacancies for company secretaries and governance professionals. We have seen a large number job vacancies posted on the website after the summer. To sign up for these alerts please follow this link here.
On the 31st March I gave an interview to the Sunday Business Post where I highlighted the shortage in Governance professionals and more importantly the skill set which is unique and needed in board rooms. Please see the full article here.
There have been a number of blogs posted over the last few months on topics relevant to Company Secretaries. These can be accessed at the following link here.
I would urge you to visit the webpage and to connect with us through our LinkedIn page.
Our website address is https://www.cgi.org.uk/ireland
A calendar of events is available through the Events tab of the website and I would encourage members and students to attend as many events as possible and to become an active member of the Institute in Ireland. Please note that these events are also open to non-members so if you have any colleagues or friends who may be interested in attending, please urge them to come along.
